Welcome to the Summer Meeting for the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP)! The 2017 theme is Strengthening Ties Between Observations and User Communities. The theme is based on one of the goals in the 2015 - 2020 ESIP Strategic Plan, which provides a framework for ESIP’s activities over the next three years.

Shayne Urbanowski is a Computer Scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). He holds a M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering from Walden University, USA. He has 20 years of experience engineering geospatial software applications. His research interest includes geospatial open standards, data visualization, sensor webs and software development practices. He has acted a technical representative for standards organizations defining best practices and applying emerging standards to testbed activities. At the USGS he acts as a solutions architect integrating innovative software solutions to support science related objectives.
